CIFF KIDS presented a renewed and stronger kids fashion trade show with new location at Forum Copenhagen in Copenhagen, Frederiksberg. Spanish market and FIMI report

The report on the Spanish market is available in our DOWNLOAD area here. More than 370 exhibitors specialized in the universe of children’s fashion and decor were showing their new collection at 80th edition of FIMI in Madrid. It was the biggest fashion collection ever. Starting Saturday 17th till today Monday the 20th January at Casa de Campo exhibition centre. Saturday as Sunday many visitors came to see the new collections for Fall/Winter 2015 and it seems the Spanish children’s market is growing a little again. International sales again rose by 14.8% according to last year. The terms of employment and the improved expectations for domestic demand forecast an increase in employment in the sector by around 1%.

Also opening last weekend – 1& 2 February 2015 – Bubble London A/W15 was bursting with beautiful new brands, collections and features. Over 280 brands unveiled their latest collections at the Business Design Centre, Islington, with the product on offer ranging from kid’s clothing, footwear, accessories and toys, to gifts and homeware.

Thanks to their new Perfect Pitch programme, visitors have even been able to meet and engage with some of Bubble’s best up-and-coming designers – while, down on the floor, they have just announced the winner of A/W15 Rising Star Award! Girlswear label Oh…My! scooped first prize, despite incredibly stiff competition from a host of talented finalists.

Bubble’s charity of choice this season is High Wycombe’s Out of the Dark. The family run social enterprise recycles and restores furniture, employing young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Out of the Dark is also giving visitors the chance to snap-up one of eleven unique kid’s chairs, which were upcycled by our favourite bloggers, magazines and creatives in a pre-show workshop.

From a “wall of wishes” to the ultimate colouring sheet, Anorak has brought all manner of fun to Bubble London in the past. This season, the “happy mag for kids” is set to return with some new surprises.

KID – a new “rendez-vous à Paris”!

For this winter season, Paris was added by a new trade show dedicated to contemporary fashion for children – KID.

Located in the heart of Paris, KID is an innovative project, a cross between a showroom and a traditional trade show, dedicated to professionals in search of novelty in the childrenʼs market. KID is organized by fashion event director Anaïs Sidali, and artistic director Julien Pelgrand, and framed by a curatorial ethic, which favors quality over quantity. Julien explains: “With KID, we offer our brands the possibility of direct contact with well-connected buyers and top influencers in the childrenʼs market. Our buyersʼ network is built to match our exhibitorsʼ commercial goals, whether in prestigious department stores or independents”.

Playtime Paris 17th edition – more brands, more international visitors!

From January 31 to February 2, 2015 – Playtime Paris gathered some of the best of children’s and maternity to present their new Fall/ Winter collections 2015/16. 440 brands, 20% new exhibitors and 32 nationalities – with its tailor-made offer, Playtime continues to convince more and more foreign brands to show their new collections in Paris. That is one of the reasons that attracts so many greet buyers from around the globe.

Playtime again says ‘yes’ to marriage between Art and Trends! A theme based on what they experienced in their daily lives was shown in the fair’s trend spaces, in which the work, specially conceived for Playtime, of 3 artists associated with stage design was shown. The artistic exploration of fiber shown by artist Hélène Barrier. ‘Let’s Break the Rules’ – a voluminous installations and colorful collages by Lucie Van der Elst and ‘Welcome to the Club’ by Sophie Cuvelier – an incarnates poetry in action and words.

The 3rd edition of the exhibit PlayWithDesign was set up with a shop inside of the Decor/Design section. Dedicated to children’s design it was organized around the theme of ‘Mobile Experiences.’ In association with the Vannerie de Vilaines, the French specialist of wicker work and basket weaving, 10 designers were invited to realize their vision of movement.

Playologie, the first B2B trade fair dedicated to the children’s and maternity sectors, was also present at the fair, ready to make the acquaintance of buyers and brands. Available in 7 languages, Playologie offers sector professionals global visibility and a tool that complements their usual work methods.
