First impressions of FIMI Madrid

Team ShowStyleKids was present at the 81st edition of FIMI in Madrid. This season we select for each fair a few of our favourites. Collections that caught our eyes, from newcomers to the market to well established national or international brands.

The fair was located in a new hall of Casa Campo Madrid Arena, an improvement to previous editions.

Here are our favourites of this seasons FIMI:

315 brands at 81st edition of FIMI

On the 19th of June it is time for the 81st edition of FIMI. One of the most important events within FIMI is FIMI KIDS FASHION WEEK, the International Fashion Week, which will be bringing together an outstanding selection of labels, both Spanish and foreign, that will be showing their designs for the upcoming spring-summer season to the international audience. Show on the catwalk of the FIMI KIDS FASHION WEEK, will be brands like Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada swimwear, Barcarola, Bimbalina, Bóboli, Bóboli swimwear, DC Kids, Foque, José Varón, José Varón swimwear, Kiddy Mini Model, La Ormiga, Lea Lelo, Losan, Lyon of Porches, Mayoral, N+V Villalobos + Nieves Álvarez, N+V Villalobos + Nieves Álvarez swimwear, Oca Loca, Pan con Chocolate, Pilar Batanero, Tartaleta, Teté and Martina and will present their proposals for the children’s fashion.

Spanish market and FIMI report

The report on the Spanish market is available in our DOWNLOAD area here. More than 370 exhibitors specialized in the universe of children’s fashion and decor were showing their new collection at 80th edition of FIMI in Madrid. It was the biggest fashion collection ever. Starting Saturday 17th till today Monday the 20th January at Casa de Campo exhibition centre. Saturday as Sunday many visitors came to see the new collections for Fall/Winter 2015 and it seems the Spanish children’s market is growing a little again. International sales again rose by 14.8% according to last year. The terms of employment and the improved expectations for domestic demand forecast an increase in employment in the sector by around 1%.

More than 370 exhibitors specialized in the universe of children’s fashion and decor were showing their new collection at the 80th edition of FIMI this weekend in Madrid. It was the biggest fashion collection ever. Starting Saturday 17th till today Monday the 20th January at Casa de Campo exhibition centre. Saturday as Sunday many visitors came to see the new collections for Fall/Winter 2015 and it seems the Spanish children’s market is growing a little again. International sales again rose by 14.8% according to last year. The terms of employment and the improved expectations for domestic demand forecast an increase in employment in the sector by around 1%.

FIMI KIDS FASHION WEEK catwalks are at an internationa point of reference regarding setting trends. Leading Spanish and foreign labels having taken part over the years and once again presented their new collections in several stunning fashion shows on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

In collaboration with ICEX Spain Trade and Investment FIMI has arranged a number of trade missions for buyers to visit the fair. Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Colombia are very fond of Spanish fashion and their styles. The famous Spanish label Barcarola is opening their first two stores – one in Riad and one in Qatar.

Also ASEPRI, the Spanish Association of Manufactures of Products for Children supports FIMI to identify markets of interest to exhibitors at the fair. ASEPRI is a non-profit association representing 300 childcare and children’s fashion brands from Spain in over 100 markets world wide. Their aim is to assist their brands in improving their competitiveness and to boost the children’s sector from Spain in the international markets – and as we will see next week at Pitti Bimbo – they do it very successful! So don’t miss on their great fashion show Children’s Fashion from Spain on Thursday at 12noon | Sala del Rondino at Fortezza da Basso. See you there …

FIMI Madrid July 2014 impressions

The 79th edition of the International Trade Fair for Young People’s Fashion (FIMI) took place from 4 – 6 July 2014 in Madrid. A total of 300 national and international companies presented their collections for the spring/summer 2015 to professionals of the sector. This new edition of FIMI has exceeded the number of participating brands at the last edition in June 2013 by 50 %. FASHION WEEK which is the epicentre of young people’s fashion. An extensive program of processions in which in total 38 participating companies specialised in young people’s fashion will show their new proposals. Exhibitors highlight the important influx of international buyers who have turned to FIMI. Russia and Eastern countries top this list, Latin America, as well as France and Italy, classics comprise the profile of buyers in the international market. The ceremony and communion wear, swimwear and accessories collections support the event, and are the main focus of attention for buyers and the media. The space dedicated to young creators, Nuditos, is valued by both businesses and brands. Tomorrow their proposals close FIMI FASHION WEEK. “Magical day” by FIMI

COMMUNION & CEREMONY FASHION

“Magical Day by FIMI”, the only international event specialized in communion and ceremony fashion, furthermore trendsetting and generating business. It was the second edition of Magical Day by FIMI with the latest proposals of communion and ceremony fashion for spring 2015.

The event organized by Feria Valencia, the International Children’s and Young People Fashion Fair, FIMI, gathered a total number of 70 brands specialized in the World of communion and ceremony.

All trends from classic to breaking through in the “Magical Ride” which was shown in the garden of the Real Fábrica de Tapices in Madrid.

The 70 brands have expressed its satisfaction with the high volume of Business generated at Magical Day by FIMI. According to the event director, Alicia Gimeno, “during the three-day exhibition, brands concentrated a sales volume between 50% and 90% of the season,” a figure that consolidates this event as an indisputable platform for business and fashion.
