Movement” is the theme for the 11th edition of Playtime New York (held from 1 – 3 August 2015) in Metropolitan Pavilion in the heart of Chelsea, New York. Movement because of the increasing numbers of brands and movement because of the increasing numbers of visitors. Some new, some returning.

Of course, Playtime New York will also bring you trends:

1. On the road theme designed by Polina Soloveichik. Pack your bags and take off to explore the world! New places, new cultures… at each stop, the bags are stuffed with ethnic embroideries, folkloric prints and colors from another land. Once back home, it all gets mixed up into multiculti ensembles and the voyage continues! • Materials: cottons of every kind • Colors: Bright colors & terra-cotta • Patterns: Wax and ethnic prints, folkloric embroideries, tie dye • Key words: Balkans, Mexico, Africa, folklore, ethnic, wax, Huichol, gypst On Saturday 1st, artist Polina Soloveichik will perform a live mural painting, mixing traditional patterns and ornament linked to mythology and mixed cultures.

2. Take it easy theme designed by Tanya Minhas. Escape from the hustle and bustle. Children know better than anyone how to close themselves off in their own little bubble, slow down, and let their spirit wander… A perfect chance for a stylistic break in order to purify shapes and wrap up in white. • Materials: natural, like cotton, linen, hemp, and silk • Colors: all tones of white • Patterns: none • Key words: minimalist, slow food, slow design, slow tech, taking your time, wandering, take a break From cocoon to butterfly, artist Tanya Minhas will reveal the magic and beauty of this slow metamorphosis. •

3. Let’s dance theme designed by Zoe Adlesberg. Little ones or big ones, no one can resist the disco rhythm! Sequins, rhinestone and psychedelic prints invade the dance floor. Donna Summer gets everyone up to shake their booty! • Materials: shiny and iridescent • Colors: bright and saturated, metallic • Patterns: sequins, psychedelic prints • Key words: Disco music, glitter, shiny, 70’s, Nu disco / Balearic beat, fun, joy, aerobics, David Bowie, party This summer at Playtime Paris and New York, photographer Zoe Adlesberg will present a freeze frame of dancing, skating, and jumping children in a disco setting! •
