The 81st edition of Pitti Immagine Bimbo (Florence, 25-27 June 2015) ended last Saturday. More than 10.000 visitors (5.600 international buyers) came to Florence to view the new collections for spring | summer 2016. The figures for Italy remained stable, reflecting the positive signs already registered for domestic consumption which has become more dynamic in recent months. According to Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine:  “The Italian market has managed to hold steady and this is undoubtedly a comforting sign after several seasons in which the decrease in domestic consumption has been evident”.

Pitti Bimbo celebrates its first 40 years with PITTI COLOR PARTY!

“THAT’S PITTICOLOR” was the title-theme of the fair and was revolved around color and colors, the colors in which we are constantly immersed, the colors that are all around us, that we wear, that are inside us and in front of our eyes. To celebrate the fair’s 40th birthday a big PITTI COLOR PARTY was set up. It was a special event dedicated to its exhibitors, top buyers and the international press on Friday 26 June, at 8.30 p.m., in the beautiful setting of Villa Le Corti in San Casciano Val di Pesa.

New section KidzFIZZ, the Pitti Bimbo concept lab

KidzFIZZ is the brand new children’s fashion project that brings together new creative collections to present their collections to a more evolved international public. KidzFIZZ bears testimony to New View in order to adapt to the new kids’ lifestyle global scenarios. Staged at the Medici Pavilion, with a striking layout by Storage Associati, KidzFIZZ is a laboratory of ideas and innovations.

The runway shows and events: a fashion week for children only

As at every edition children’s fashion is displaying high levels of quality with their fabulous fashion runway shows. The shows launched new trends and offered invaluable ideas for styling and combining clothing and accessories, were attracting increasingly bigger audiences. On Thursday 25 June, at 5.00pm, at the Dogana of Via Valfonda, Pitti Bimbo featured the premiere of “Italia Wow!! “. Thanks to the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana and the ICE Agency, with the fundamental support of the Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico (Ministry for Economic Development) Italia Wow!!, the special runway show pointed the spotlight on 17 of the most promising Made in Italy kidswear manufacturers.

22-24 Jan 2015 – The world of childrenswear met at Pitti Bimbo in Florence and it was a positive atmosphere and a great quality of over 450 collections, of which 166 were from abroad. We saw a great overview of children’s fashions  and again Pitti Bimbo proved to be an extraordinary platform for presenting the new lifestyle trends for kids. With more than 7,000 buyers and a total of just under 10,000 visitors, Pitti Bimbo confirms that it is one of the most important trade fair in the world that presents a complete overview of the universe of children’s fashion on a global level as well as an extraordinary platform for presenting new lifestyle trends.  And following a trend already experimented in previous seasons, at this edition more than ever, Pitti Bimbo was giving a boost to the world of research: from the avant-garde collections of Apartment to the creativity of the independent brands in the New View and EcoEthic sections, to accessories and design objects for the littlest set.  As always, all of this was staged alongside the established quality and classical-elegant style of the big names at Pitti Bimbo, the sportswear of Sport Generation and the urban atmosphere of SuperStreet.  All in a setting that welcomes visitors with a pleasant, entertaining atmosphere, guiding them in constantly new and original ways through the short circuits of fashion, art, sport and design.

Walkabout Pitti was the title-theme of the fair and it explored the essential, endless and always current theme of traveling on foot. Walking just for the pleasure of doing it, to see, think about and savor the world alone or with friends.

What would Pitti Bimbo be without it’s wonderful runway show-events. Our first visit was to Children’s Fashion From Spain. Magic, beauty and mystery – with it’s magical scenario Spanish children’s fashion created and narrated it’s collection stories for next fall-winter 2015-16. The FW 15/16 collection from Il Gufo took us to an inspiration  journey though the wood, from a walk through the fallen leaves, from a child who wants to explore the world with the curious eyes of one who knows that nature is constant discovery, and from majestic trees with deep roots and long boughs in a natural, unspoilt setting. Just wonderful!

FIMI KIDS FASHION WEEK catwalks are at an internationa point of reference regarding setting trends.  Leading Spanish and foreign labels having taken part over the years and once again presented their new collections in several stunning fashion shows on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

In collaboration with ICEX Spain Trade and Investment FIMI has arranged a number of trade missions for buyers to visit the fair. Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Colombia are very fond of Spanish fashion and their styles. The famous Spanish label Barcarola is opening their first two stores – one in Riad and one in Qatar.

Also ASEPRI, the Spanish Association of Manufactures of Products for Children supports  FIMI to identify markets of interest to exhibitors at the fair. ASEPRI is a non-profit association representing 300 childcare and children’s fashion brands from Spain in over 100 markets world wide. Their aim is to assist their brands in improving their competitiveness and to boost the children’s sector from Spain in the international markets – and as we will see next week at Pitti Bimbo – they do it very successful! So don’t miss on their great fashion show Children’s Fashion from Spain on Thursday at 12noon | Sala del Rondino at Fortezza da Basso. See you there …
