Barcarola opens its second store in Doha Qatar

The Spanish children fashion brand Barcarola continues with its international expansion in the Middle East area. Last month we reported on Barcarola’s first store opening in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). Now they have opened their second store in Doha (Qatar). The boutique store has 100 square meters distributed over a single floor and is located at the ‘Pearl Qatar Mall’. Barcarola plans to continue with its international expansion process in the next years to establish its own mono-brand commercial network.

New shop and kids collection for Twins for Peace

The French brand Twins for Peace opens a shop in Paris. In the 3rd arrondissement on Rue Commines the cool sneaker brand now adds a section dedicated to their new collection for children. Kids will not be jealous of their parents any more; the charity French brand has fitted the “must-have” from its adult collection onto your cherub’s feet. From the Classics canvas to the Boubou silk or leather, there’s a style for everyone!

As always, for each pair bought, we donate a locally and sustainably produced shoe to a needy child.

On 12 & 13 July Bubble London opened its doors to the visitors. Team ShowStyleKids was present and here we give you our first impressions. And like from every fair we visit, we show you our favourite picks from the fair.

The entrance area saw a coffee bar by TOMS | The One for One Company : With every product you purchase, TOMS will help a person in need. At Bubble London, TOMS was selling its new fair-trade coffee and with each cup or Rasting Co. beans helping suply water to a peson in need.

A presentation with the nominees for the Rising Star Award. 14 new launch brands were going head-to-head for the Rising Star Award, which showcases and celebrates emerging design talent. July 2015’s Bubble Rising Star is luxury footwear label Little Lulu’s.

Holly Hastie Beautifully designed clothes for little girls who love colour, quality and style from British clothing designer Holly Hastie.

For Cuties Let’s look at the world through children’s eyes! This is how the fairytale began with For Cuties. The designer, a mother got inspired by her daughter’s drawings and imagination, and decided to recreate them into children’s clothes.

Sissonne was born in Porto, Portugal, inspired in the perfect symbiotic alliance between modern design and elements from the past. Sissonne clothes are versatile and easy to wear in a contemporary-chic, romantic style for 3-month to 6-year-olds.

First Impressions Playtime Paris

Around 470 brands were present at this seasons edition of Playtime Paris. ShowStyleKids team had the pleasure to visit them once again and was amazed by the fact that they keep on growing and improving. We saw a lot of returning brands but also quite some new ones! For this edition, Playtime Paris positined all maternity wear in seperate pavilions. So the main hall was dedicated to a wonderful curated selection of fashion and accessories brands and of course the trend installations.

ShowStyleKids picked a few favourties we would like to highlight.

Second edition of KID Paris

The new trade fair in Paris, KID, delivered a second edition at the Bastille Design Center on Boulevard Richard Lenoir. In an intimate setting, press, buyers and other fashion professionals had plenty of time to see the great selection of brands on show. Of course, team ShowStyleKids was present too and brings you some general impressions and also our favourites from the fair.

Movement for Playtime New York

“Movement” is the theme for the 11th edition of Playtime New York (held from 1 – 3 August 2015) in Metropolitan Pavilion in the heart of Chelsea, New York. Movement because of the increasing numbers of brands and movement because of the increasing numbers of visitors. Some new, some returning.

1. On the road theme designed by Polina Soloveichik. Pack your bags and take off to explore the world! New places, new cultures… at each stop, the bags are stuffed with ethnic embroideries, folkloric prints and colors from another land. THAT’S PITTICOLOR! First impressions Pitti Bimbo 81st edition

The 81st edition of Pitti Immagine Bimbo (Florence, 25-27 June 2015) ended last Saturday. More than 10.000 visitors (5.600 international buyers) came to Florence to view the new collections for spring | summer 2016. The figures for Italy remained stable, reflecting the positive signs already registered for domestic consumption which has become more dynamic in recent months. According to Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine: “The Italian market has managed to hold steady and this is undoubtedly a comforting sign after several seasons in which the decrease in domestic consumption has been evident”.

Pitti Bimbo celebrates its first 40 years with PITTI COLOR PARTY!

“THAT’S PITTICOLOR” was the title-theme of the fair and was revolved around color and colors, the colors in which we are constantly immersed, the colors that are all around us, that we wear, that are inside us and in front of our eyes. To celebrate the fair’s 40th birthday a big PITTI COLOR PARTY was set up. It was a special event dedicated to its exhibitors, top buyers and the international press on Friday 26 June, at 8.30 p.m., in the beautiful setting of Villa Le Corti in San Casciano Val di Pesa.

New section KidzFIZZ, the Pitti Bimbo concept lab

KidzFIZZ is the brand new children’s fashion project that brings together new creative collections to present their collections to a more evolved international public. KidzFIZZ bears testimony to New View in order to adapt to the new kids’ lifestyle global scenarios. Staged at the Medici Pavilion, with a striking layout by Storage Associati, KidzFIZZ is a laboratory of ideas and innovations.

On Thursday 25 June, at 5.00pm, at the Dogana of Via Valfonda, Pitti Bimbo featured the premiere of “Italia Wow!! “. Thanks to the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana and the ICE Agency, with the fundamental support of the Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico (Ministry for Economic Development) Italia Wow!!, the special runway show pointed the spotlight on 17 of the most promising Made in Italy kidswear manufacturers.

Kanz Financial Holding buys Lief!lifestyle

The Kanz Financial Holding GmbH (KFH) has bought the Dutch baby and children’s fashion label lief!lifestyle. The Dutch fashion and lifestyle specialist of children’s clothing since 2005 was taken over by KFH in the form of an asset deal to strengthen lief! business strategy. Together with the KFH, one of the largest providers of children’s clothing on the international kids fashion market, numerous synergies are created.
Both the license business and the design of lief!lifestyle will continue to be operated from the Netherlands, as does the conceptstore in Sliedrecht. Thus, the “DNA” of the Dutch brand remains.

The owner-managed Kanz Financial Holding GmbH (KFH) is a global enterprise with headquarters in Pliezhausen, Germany. The KFH leads multiple businesses- and majority interests in the market of baby and children’s fashion and children’s equipment and toys. The Holding includes Bellybutton International GmbH, the Kids Fashion Group and the Junior Brands Group.

Lifestyle as a central element of the lief! brand will be the basis of the business for KFH in the Benelux countries. Next to lief!Lifestyle there also will be represented the brands: Marc O’Polo Junior, Miss Sixty, Energy and Murphy & Nye, as well as the pregnancy Label Love2Wait.

14 nominees for Bubble London Rising Star Award

Bubble London announces its 14 nominees for the Rising Star. Launched in June 2013, the now-renowned competition serves as a platform for up-and-coming designers – both international, and homegrown. This season, the winner will be announced on Bubble’s opening day, Sunday 12th, with a panel of industry professionals set to judge entrants on everything from strength of product to branding, marketing and stand presentation. S/S16’s line-up is one of the most diverse yet, showcasing promising new fashion, footwear and lifestyle brands. It looks set to be a particularly strong show for girlswear, with luxury label Little Wardrobe London and Australian newcomer Tinker and Boo both in contention for the award. Occassionwear specialist Le Mu and fun, tween-girl brand Horses of the Wild have also made the cut. They will be joined by Amabelle, whose dresses, pettiskirts and tutus are inspired by the elegance of ‘50s and ‘60s fashion. Model My Own, meanwhile, will present its debut collection of dresses – which can be customised using clip-on accessories – to the judging panel. It will go head-to-head with the equally innovative Dotty Dungarees, which specialises in colourful, practical and adjustable dungarees for boys and girls. Babywear will come courtesy of British label Baby Acorn, whose soft cotton sleepsuits, shawls, bibs and jackets are available in a range of gender-neutral colours and prints. BBbambino is also set to showcase a debut range featuring fun, original prints, which are hand drawn by its founder and designer, Betty Bonhard. It will join whimsical, story-book inspired childrenswear label Little Kokoro, cool, contemporary fashion brand Where’s That Bear?, and the playful and quirky Mr Wolf. This season’s diverse line-up is completed by two footwear brands – on-trend baby-shoe specialist Little Lulus, and Hop Shoes, which aims to support growing feet. The winning brand is set to receive a free stand at next season’s show.

On the 19th of June it is time for the 81st edition of FIMI. One of the most important events within FIMI is FIMI KIDS FASHION WEEK, the International Fashion Week, which will be bringing together an outstanding selection of labels, both Spanish and foreign, that will be showing their designs for the upcoming spring-summer season to the international audience.
